Medicare Africa Expo & Conference is an exhibition focusing on medical equipment, scientific and laboratory instruments, hospital furniture pharmaceutical products and services to be hosted by Design Initiative Ltd. It builds on the success of four years of successful exhibitions which have attracted exhibitors from around the globe interested in the African market.

Medicare Expo has as its Objective "to Create a network of medical health workers and medical service providers", and this aptly captures the vision behind this event.

The exhibition aims at providing the exhibitors an opportunity to liaise with a cross-section of health professionals which include medical octors, aspiring health practitioners and hospital administrators. This definitely enhances the client base for each of the stakeholders involved: both the service providers and the health workers in the medical field. the exhibitors are also accorded the unique prospect of launching and displaying new products aimed at improving the quality of health services not only in Kenya but also within the region and abroad.

The networking of both the medical health workers and medical service providers is vital in stimulating discussions on their role not only in Kenya but also in third world countries, which are still grappling with issues of poverty, disease and inaccessibility to proper medical care and treatment. As the various stakeholders from both the public and the private sectors gather every year for the expo, it has been imperative for them to exchange ideas on the efficient management of the medical sector to ensure the effective use of the medical products while providing quality service. The time is ripe for the various professionals in the medical field to raise awareness on issues such as the medical devices growth in the local industry, the diversity in products'classification, expanded safety questions, rapidly changing technology and increasing customer and regulatory scrutiny.
